By offering a mix of shared, open-concept desks and office space along with private offices for rent, Cowork Tahoe is perfectly suited to satisfy the needs of the 21st century worker. We provide blazing fast internet, video conferencing, snacks, coffee, and drinks to keep you at the top of your game. And don’t forget about our community events - workshops, social outings, volunteering, lectures, and member lunches all contribute to creating a strong work community, even though all those in the community are working on different projects and in widely varying industries.
Who are we? We are a diverse group of professionals from a wide range of industries including: urban planning, geographic information services, non-profits, software, sales & marketing, web development, design, fine art, finance, business development, executive coaching, higher education and medicine. Companies represented range in size from large to small, well-established corporations to bootstrapped startup. We all believe in increased productivity through strong community and collaboration and always make time to enjoy all that Lake Tahoe has to offer with our friends and families. So whether you're just starting out, or part of a multinational organization, we have space for you.
Why did we do it? We created Cowork Tahoe because we noticed the need for a stronger, more cohesive professional community in South Lake Tahoe. While there is a highly professionalized work force in South Lake Tahoe, it is not publicly visible because so many work from home. By creating a hub of innovation, we’re giving those professionals the opportunity to cast off their sweatpants, brush their teeth, come into an office, and collaborate. Magical things can happen when you put people together in the right environment. Never underestimate the power of collaboration to help improve your business.
What are our values? Each member of our coworking space has chosen to live deliberately in Lake Tahoe to partake in the lifestyle our area offers. Our goal is to provide a highly collaborative environment for people to work, learn, and grow their businesses, while providing access to all of Tahoe's great amenities. We cherish our region and strive to support the entire community that we are a part of. We are a group of individuals who want to work hard, play hard, and prosper in South Lake Tahoe.
What is our mission? Our mission is to create a highly inclusive and collaborative environment for our members to learn and grow their business. We want you to thrive, and we are here to help.
What else do we do? Cowork Tahoe is one of the epicenters for organized activities in the Tahoe Basin. Our members participate in everything from barbecues and social events, workshops, volunteering, stand up paddle boarding, skiing and snowboarding, snowshoeing, hiking, biking, beer brewing, and more!
Are you on vacation? Cowork Tahoe also supports those who choose to vacation in South Lake Tahoe by providing a professional office away from home. Whether you need a place to work for a week or a few months, we’ve got you covered, so feel free to spend more time enjoying the lake.
Our history
Cowork Tahoe, formerly known as Tahoe Mountain Lab, was founded by Jesse Walker, Jamie Orr, and David Orr in South Lake Tahoe in February of 2014. Jesse, an urban planning consultant; Jamie Orr, a college science professor; and David Orr, an entrepreneur, moved to South Lake Tahoe (or back to SLT in Jesse’s case) in the pursuit of hacking their lives to be more in line with their values. All quickly realized working from home wasn’t all it was cracked up to be: distractions were numerous, collaboration with other people, even just for lunch, was difficult, and the separation between a home and work life was becoming non-existent (not to mention how hard it could be to get out of sweatpants before noon). In 2015, David & Jamie partnered with Bernard & Cristi Creegan to expand Cowork Tahoe into the iconic Tribune building and bring the business to where it is today.
